What does A1 Pooper Scoopin' do?

A1 Pooper Scoopin is a professional pet waste removal service that is dedicated to pets and pet owners and makes their homes a happier, safer and cleaner place to live. We clean residential and commercial properties.

How do I sign up?

Please start by filling out this form via the link below.  This will get emailed to us and we’ll touch base with more information.

Once you have agreed to the service – you will get a few emails from our software.

Confirmation of your service – please just check this over and make sure all the information is correct.

Invoice for the agreed upon services.  If you are signing up for pay as you go services, we will request your credit card on file before starting the services.

If you are signing up for a weekly or bi-weekly service, you’ll get a login, so you can sign into your account (only if you want) and check out your service dates, make requests, and look at payment history.  You can always just email, call or text us as well.

What happens on the day of a service?

If you provide us with your cell number, you will get a “On our way” text 15-60 minutes before we arrive at your location.  This helps you be aware of when we are in your yard.   Important for your liability!

When our rep arrives, they will go into your yard and scoop the dog poop.  When they leave, and this is one of the most important parts, we will close and “rattle” the gate to make sure its latched properly!

Our reps take the waste away unless you have agreed to allow the use of your bins.

How often should I have my yard cleaned?

That depends on your personal situation. Most clients prefer service once a week. Other service schedules are available.

Are there any contracts to sign?

No, we can start and stop your service over the phone, email. or text.  We do not require contracts and there is no minimum service period but we do offer service packages with specific timeframes (i.e. 12 weeks, 52 weeks, etc.).

Is there an extra charge for the first time cleaning?

New clients may be subject to an initial cleaning fee if there is an excessive amount of accumulation. Initial cleanup fees are a one time charge but if the yard has been maintained the initial cleanup fee will be waived.

Is it possible to get a one-time only service?

One-time only or short-term service can be easily arranged.

Do I have to be home when you clean my yard?

No, however we will need access to your yard. Please make sure your yard is accessible and that, if you have a gate, it's free and clear to open.  We also ask that your pups are either very friendly or in the house when we come.  

Can you work with my dog in the yard?

In most cases we can work with your dog in the yard. We get along well with dogs; however there are some cases when a dog will not allow us into the yard. If you know that your dog is not good with strangers, or it becomes apparent that your dog will not allow us to service your yard, we would then ask you to make sure your pup is in the house.

Will A1 Pooper Scoopin cancel services?

We have a great team of reps that like to be outdoors but even they get uncomfortable with certain conditions!  We use worksafe Alberta as our guideline.  We will recommend reps not work when the Humidex reaches -32 in the winter and 32 celcius in the summer.  If the weather prevents us from servicing your yard, we will let you know and postpone that day’s service until the next week.  If you have a circumstance where the yard needs to be done before your next scheduled day, please feel free to touch base.

What if I want to skip a day?

You will not be charged as long as you notify us by either phone or email a minimum of 24 hours prior to your scheduled date of service. If the dog will be gone from the yard for an extended period of time, contact us and we will gladly put your service on hold.

Do you work through the winter?

Yes, Dogs keep making their messes all year long and we will continue to clean up and remove dog waste throughout the winter. Winter clean up can be more popular than summer clean up. People like to be in their yards in the summer and like their pet waste removed on a more regular basis. They don't go in their yards much in the winter but do not like to have a huge mess to clean up when the snow melts.

Can I sign up in the winter?

Yes, We operate all year round and signing up can be done anytime.

What happens when it rains or snows?

Bad weather is a part of life, yet we usually can work through it. Very heavy snowfall or rainfall can stop us though. If the weather prevents us from servicing your yard, we will postpone that day's service until your next scheduled date of service.

Will you get ALL the dog waste?

Yes, provided the scooping conditions allow us to.  Times we have trouble getting everything:

 

Wet Poop.  We will scoop and even scrape but often there is some left over given the nature of wetness.

 

Rocks.  I know many believe river rock is great for dog runs, for us scoopers, it makes it difficult to get all the waste and leave behind all the rocks.

 

Snow.  When there is a snow fall, we do our best to get everything we can, kicking through the snow to search.  We do not cancel on snow days necessarily but come and get what we can.  You are charged if we come or not (because there is the same amount of poop there when the snow melts!) so we would rather come and get what we can.  This also helps us when the snow melts, so we don’t have weeks and weeks worth of build up.

Would there be a reason you wouldn't do a service?

If we can’t get in the yard for some reason, i.e., gate is locked or there is an obstruction to the gate.  If this happens, we’ll touch base to let you know we couldn’t get in the yard and do our best to reschedule.

 

If the dog(s) is out and is being aggressive towards the rep.  If this happens, we’ll touch base to let you know we couldn’t get in the yard and do our best to reschedule.

 

Rep malfunction i.e., car breakdown, sickness, family emergency.  We can often get this rectified and another rep to cover but sometimes we have to touch base and reschedule for another day. 

 

Extreme weather.

How do I pay you?

We have a variety of options.  You can pay by credit card, cash, e-transfer, Paypal or through our online software.  Our preference is always e-transfer to contact@pooperscoopin.com.
